In a letter to Cecilia Malmström, the Co-Chairs of the Transatlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) requested a meeting to initiate a discussion between consumer representatives and the Commissioner that will soon represent the EU in negotiations with the U.S. on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
Monique Goyens (Director General at BEUC – the European Consumer Organisation) and Ed Mierzwinski (Consumer Programme Director at U.S. PIRG) expressed an interest to present TACD’s analysis of the current state of TTIP negotiations and to hear about the Commissioner’s approach to the EU-U.S. trade talks, especially with regard to transparency of the negotiations and engagement with civil society.
